Wawa Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Fueling System

Air & Gas Technologies Inc. in conjunction with Oxford Engineering Company has recently completed the design and installation of a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle fueling system at Wawa Store #8305 located at 51 Berkley Road in Paulsboro, New Jersey. The CNG system is currently operational and a ribbon cutting ceremony was performed on March 3, 2016. This project marks Wawa’s first integration of a CNG vehicle fueling system within one of their existing convenience-store/petroleum station installations. The station is conveniently located at Exit 18 along New Jersey State Highway 295 in Paulsboro.

The station features the installation two (2) 200 HP/450 SCFM ANGI Energy Systems compressors and two (2) Gilbarco Encore two-hose dispensers. Each dispenser is fitted with one standard and one high flow nozzle. The CNG dispensers are completely integrated with the stores point-of-sale (POS) system. This self-serve CNG station is open to the public and accepts all major credit cards. Additionally, the fueling system includes a 300 kw Kohler Generator for back-up power in the event of a power outage.

Funding for the station was made possible through the collaborative efforts of South Jersey Gas and Wawa. The design and installation of the CNG fueling system was provided by local New Jersey based companies. CNG station builders Air & Gas Technologies Inc., located in Cliffwood Beach, NJ and Oxford Engineering Company, located in Camden, NJ, have over 30 years of combined experience in the design and installation of CNG stations and have partnered on numerous CNG projects in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Air & Gas Technologies Inc. & Oxford Engineering Company have collectively designed and built over 100 CNG vehicle fueling stations including New Jersey’s first public CNG refueling station located in Jersey City, New Jersey.
